Who we are..

Esra Taylor ( Essie to everyone who knows me !)

I am the founder and creator of The Montessori Play Space. I aim to create innovative, calm, engaging and interesting craft and art sessions that hold Montessori education and Montessori teaching at the foundation.

I qualified as a Montessori Teacher 12 years ago in London and since then I have worked in some truly inspirational Montessori Schools. Once my daughter started school I knew it was the perfect time to create The Montessori Play Space.

I started by offering Montessori parent and child play sessions and from there moved towards offering more creativity sessions. I do still offer Montessori parent and child play sessions although my art and craft sessions are currently far more regular with a weekly Craft Arty Club and a weekly Storytime and Craft session.

All my sessions are based around supporting your child's self expression, independence and respecting their individuality.  I do this by offering choices, respecting your child's voice and communication style, providing freedom from interruption and supporting movement and fine motor skills refinement through thoughtfully prepared activities. Each session usually has a sensory element such a play dough to keep those busy little hands engaged throughout any of my sessions.
